Billing & Subscriptions
Understanding your subscription, billing, and payment processing
Transparent, Fair Pricing
Medbookings uses slot-based pricing. You pay for the appointment slots you make available, not for actual patient bookings. This model is fair for all providers regardless of specialty or booking patterns.
All plans include essential features like calendar integration, automated reminders, and patient communication tools.

Billing & Subscription FAQs
How does slot-based billing work?
You pay for available appointment slots, not actual bookings. If you create 50 slots in a month, you're billed for 50 slots, regardless of how many patients actually book. This incentivizes efficient availability management.
What happens if I exceed my included slots?
Overage slots are billed using tiered pricing. For example: slots 31-60 might be R8 each, slots 61-100 might be R6 each, and slots 100+ might be R4 each. Exact rates depend on your plan.
Can I change my plan mid-month?
Yes! Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle to avoid overage charges.
Do you offer trial periods?
Yes, new providers get a 14-day trial with full access to Professional features. No credit card required to start the trial.
How do I collect payment from patients?
Medbookings handles appointment booking but not payment collection from patients. You'll collect payment directly from patients using your preferred method (cash, card, medical aid billing).
What payment methods do you accept for subscriptions?
We accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard), debit cards, and direct bank transfers. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.
Cancellation Policy
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Here's what happens:
